Aisling Tomei is an award-winning broadcast journalist, TV host and media personality whose work has spanned the country.
While completing her Bachelor of Communications Degree, majoring in Journalism, Aisling won the North American International Mobility Scholarship and was offered her first job in television at WBCC-TV in Cocoa, Florida. Since then Aisling has worked for all four of Canada’s major television networks (City TV, Global Television, CBC and CTV) in Halifax, Toronto, Lethbridge and Calgary. As a writer, video journalist, reporter, anchor and most recently a morning show host and producer, Aisling’s experience in front and behind the camera is extensive.
Her true love for TV comes in the form of live unscripted moments and she loves the diversity of lifestyle-based programming. Aisling is originally from Kilkenny, Ireland and spent part of her childhood traveling between Africa and Europe. Her family eventually immigrated to Canada where Aisling currently resides, in Calgary Alberta, with her husband and two children.
Whether it’s been in the field or in the studio Aisling has done it all.
She is a dynamic presenter whose range stretches from the most serious of content to the most informal and she does it with great ease. Some of her most memorable television moments have come in the form of live breaking news coverage such as the historic floods in Southern Alberta and devastating Wild Fires in Fort McMurray, but Aisling’s favourite moments have been during on-air interviews with celebrity guests. From Comedians to Chefs, Astronauts to Actors, Aisling has interviewed all kinds of newsmakers and has a natural ability for making people feel at ease on camera.
